Rapid Displays' website was outdated, lacking responsiveness, and had a dated appearance reminiscent of the 90s.
A brand-new website featuring a modern design, it seamlessly adapts to any screen size and elegantly showcases the diverse range of point-of-purchase displays produced by the company.
I began my journey by touring the company, observing the full production in motion, and mentally cataloging the impressive end products created by Rapid Display. This allowed me to familiarize myself with their capabilities and potential offerings.
I researched the competition's websites and looked at different eye-catching portfolio style websites. Rapid's biggest problem on the previous website was the lack of presentation and information. Based off my research findings, I created several mock up designs of the homepage and presented the options to my client. We then discussed the options and chose one of the options to move forward with.
I aimed to enhance the Rapid Displays site by creating detailed portfolio item pages that feature image sliders for showcasing numerous images and provide comprehensive project information. Each project outlines challenges, solutions, and results, allowing users quick access to similar projects for exploration.
Constructing responsive websites from scratch presents numerous challenges, and overcoming these obstacles is an immensely rewarding process. Websites play a crucial role in defining a brand, and it becomes a significant issue when a website appears outdated, leading visitors to leave frustrated due to difficulty finding simple information.
The redesigned Rapid Displays site has a modern and fresh look, enhancing their competitive edge in the online space. Visitors can instantly understand the nature of Rapid Displays' services upon arrival.
This project presented considerable challenges in managing user interactions. Inspired by an array of websites, we implemented nuanced hover effects coupled with rapid and seamless transitions. To address these obstacles, I delved into a broad spectrum of possibilities, ultimately offering my client a variety of promising solutions.
